AQUA BABES

These parent and child classes are offered for children between the ages of 6 months and 2 ½ years. They are a gentle and fun approach to the water, focusing on enjoyable learning experiences. Aqua Babe classes provide water familiarisation and educate both the infant and the parent through play, games and song. They also ready the child for future classes with or without the parent involved.

LEARN TO SWIM

Learn to Swim classes are offered to pre-school and school-age children. They provide learners with water familiarisation skills and confidence while focusing on learning the fundamental swimming skills and strokes. These lessons progressively build swimming skills from aided dog paddle to confident freestyle with strong kicking and breathing technique. Backstroke and basic supervised diving are also covered.

STROKE CORRECTION

These classes are offered to school-age children. They focus on developing strong, competent and correct swimming techniques for all strokes as well as safe diving and rescue skills.

SQUADS

Mingara One offers an outstanding Squad Training program to develop competent swimming skills and provide the competitive edge. Our Squad Training program focuses primarily on improving fitness, perfecting technique, and creating fun experiences catering to recreational as well as competitive swimmers.

Sessions are a combination of swimming drills and sets, strength and flexibility training, designed to improve aerobic conditioning, endurance and speed. All sessions are taught by experienced and qualified coaches providing expert tuition with proven results.

Mingara One’s Squad Training program is graded based on ability and swimming technique to ensure each swimmer attains maximum benefit from every session. Prior to commencing sessions swimmers are individually assessed to guarantee they are placed in the most appropriate squad level.

Mingara One squad program also incorporates a High Performance Development Program which provides a pathway to elite swimming for junior and senior swimmers. Swimmers at this level have been selected based on their swimming potential and availability to attend pool workout and are provided with a gym program to improve flexibility and core body strength.

Mingara One is home to our successful swim club, Mingara Aquatic Swim Club. Club night is held Friday evenings from 6:30pm and competitors can race and improve their personal best times, becoming strong and fast swimmers.
