All About Tina

1994. I was a stay-at-home mum with two young children. Exercise definitely was not “me” or part of my life up until that point. A local gym was offering a special…so I joined.  I didn’t know at the time that my husband thought I wouldn’t last two months.  After about a year I thought it was time to exercise my brain as well as my body and studied to become a Gym Instructor just to know what I was doing in the gym. I had no intention of actually pursuing a career in fitness.  However, the Universe had other ideas.  Currently Level 3 Registered Exercise Professional – Personal Trainer, Gym Instructor, Group Exercise Instructor, and Group Exercise Leader.

I have seen many “fads” both in exercise and nutrition through the years.  Some good, some bad.  The best thing is to find something that you love to do, and that benefits your mind and body.  I tend to gravitate towards exercise that helps my body, prevents injury, makes me stronger. For me that is Pilates and Yoga.   We only have one body and we need to look after it!

I’m also a “foodie”.  I think about food and cooking all the time.  My kitchen is my second favourite place to be…after the gym.  Sometimes the gym comes second!  I’m on a continuing journey to nourish myself, my family and friends through educating myself about what we eat, and how it affects our bodies.  There is no “one” perfect diet plan.  We are all individuals affected by genetics, environment and our mind state.

I have an adventurous side.  Paragliding at Crackneck Lookout, pillion passenger on a motorbike, or travelling the world.
